The Coalition for Music Education in Canada strongly believes that music is a key ingredient in a well-rounded education for every child. Research shows us that there are strong links between learning music in school and success in life.
To celebrate this, with the generous support of Yamaha Canada Music Ltd. and other partners, the Coalition has re-launched the – ‘Success in Music. Success in Life. It's No Coincidence’ initiative. This awareness campaign includes a diverse spectrum of successful professionals who share music education in their backgrounds and credit learning music as a key factor in achieving success in their respective fields. More than 10,000 copies of the poster (in French and English) will be distributed across Canada and displayed in music rooms everywhere!

The instant the first note is played, I get lost in the moment and believe that anything is possible. It helps me take a breath and remember to enjoy the moment and the melody of life.

When we cut funding for music programs to focus kids on more “useful” studies, we do them an unthinkable disservice.
