Music has always been an important part of my life. From elementary and secondary school when I participated in choir and band (even giving up half my lunch hour through my senior years!), I took great pride in coming together with others who shared a similar passion and learning from some awesome music teachers along the way. Deciding to pursue medicine as a career, I felt it important to keep music in my life even though scheduling sometimes made this challenging. Being a part of two choirs has provided me with an extremely valuable experience that provides not only an escape but a way to refocus my energy. I also believe that my early and continued involvement in music has given me a discipline and an attention to both detail and the bigger picture which have served me well both throughout my studies and in the practice of medicine.
