Hey, I never stepped into music until I hit my 60th birthday when I decided to study the tenor saxophone and it’s going great. I have mastered nine notes including a couple of flats and one sharp and I play standing at the very back in our newsroom band alongside two sax guys who really know the instrument…they let me join in with the horn’s shots on some of those great Motown songs and I have never had so much fun. I’m learning lots about music structure and timing just by being there. It’s all new to me and I wish so much I had started when I was 12. Imagine how many notes I’d have by now!
